Everything we serve is freshly prepared daily and cooked to order.
This helps us ensure that everyone receives the individual attention they deserve. Our chefs are happy, with a little notice, to tailor a dish to suit your individual requirements and dietary needs.
We run a selection of main dishes in our restaurant and a popular Friday night special in our snug.
The over-riding policy when sourcing anything for the restaurant is to start as close as possible to the White Horse. This extends through clear choices like buying local farm produce, but also into using the excellent John Jones and Son family butcher, Clwyd street, Ruthin. They have been butchering in the same shop since 1880 which has been passed down through the generations of the same family using the best traditional methods. They source all their meat very locally and can tell you what each animal has been fed on, where they lived so that their welfare has status which is VERY important to us. We also decided to have at least ‘one’ local ale - ale tastes better when it hasn't travelled!
In an rural area where employment for young people can be hard to come by, we are proud to say all of our dedicated team of staff live near the White Horse.
Jason, Lucy and the team have been at the White Horse since 2012. We have a big passion for food and good wine! With Jason having nearly 25 years experience in the kitchen and a keen eye for flavours, the passion really does show in what he creates, everything on the plate has a purpose with every detail in mind.
We also know you are only as good as the quality of your ingredients - and all of ours are handpicked, within the seasons. We have just started a raised bed kitchen garden area so we are able to grow some of our own produce and with the amount of manure available to us it should be wonder veg!!
